AD/Do 328/41 Ground Spoiler (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | Model 328-100 aircraft, serial numbers 3005, 3009, 3016, 3023 through 3027, 3031, 3034 through 3036, 3040 through 3042, 3046, 3048 through 3050, 3054, 3058, 3062, 3063, 3066, 3067, 3069, 3071, 3074, 3078 through 3083, 3085, 3086, 3090 through 3098, 3100, 3101, 3103, 3104, 3106, 3107, 3109, 3110, 3112, 3113, 3115, 3117, and 3119. Any Model 328-100 aircraft with a serial number not listed above and with the Ground Spoiler installed, active or inactive, is also affected. |

Compliance: | Before 31 March 2006, unless already accomplished. |

Background: | An interference problem may exist between the bottom of the ground spoiler trailing edge and the upper surface of the flap. This condition could lead to a higher pre-tension at ground spoiler bearing arm No.3 and No. 8, which could result in premature cracking. |
