AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Dornier 328 Series Aeroplanes

AD/DO 328/37 MLG Main Body Assembly 1/2006

Applicability:

Model 328-100 aircraft, serial numbers 3005 through 3119, equipped with main landing gear Leg Assembly part numbers and serial numbers, Main Body part numbers and serial numbers, and Main Machined Body part numbers and serial numbers as listed in LBA AD 2003-001.

Requirement:

Action in accordance with Dornier Service Bulletin No. SB-328-32-344 Revision 1.

Note:  LBA AD 2002-001 refers.

Compliance:

Before the accumulation of 16,000 landings on the main landing gear Main Body.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 19 January 2006.

Background:

The manufacturer requires shot peening of the main landing gear Main Body.
