AD/Do 328/29 Fuel Pump Wiring (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Dornier 328 Series Aeroplanes

AD/DO 328/29 Fuel Pump Wiring 1/2006

Applicability:	Model 328-100 aeroplanes with serial numbers 3005 to 3119 inclusive.
Requirement:	If not previously accomplished, inspect and, if necessary, modify the left electric fuel pump wiring harness together with the fuel line in accordance with Fairchild Dornier Service Bulletin SB-328-24-391 dated 11 September 2001.
Note:  LBA AD 2002-049 refers.
Compliance:	No later than the next A-Check after the effective date of this Directive.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 19 January 2006.
Background:	The German Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA) has received advice from the aircraft manufacturer that wire harness from the left fuel pump may chafe against the fuel increasing the risk of consequent fire and/or explosion.
