AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/DHE/22.

De Havilland Piston Engines

AD/DHE/22 Minimum Modification Standard
at Major Reconditioning
6/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 4 June 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1972 against RR Gipsy Technical News Sheet (TNS) TNS G. No. 15 of 18 February 1970 & Appendix 3 dated 27 June 1963, applicable to Gipsy Queen 11 series engines, required installation of manufacturers modifications in order to bring the modification status of these engines up to that suggested by the manufacturer.  At the time, the Time Between Recondition (TBR) periods were conditional on the incorporation of modifications listed in the requirements document.

Compliance was: Before installation following next reconditioning completed after
30 June 1972

This AD has been sufficiently promulgated for the affected engines to have been modified by now; therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required.
