Requirement:

Action in accordance with the requirements of Transport Canada AD CF-2009-11.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 17 March 2009.

Background:

Several reports were received of failures of the aft hinge of the main landing gear forward stabiliser brace.  Laboratory examinations revealed that the fatigue cracks initiated from the dowel pin hole at the aft hinge lug of the main landing gear forward stabiliser brace where the stop bracket is attached.  Failure of the stabiliser brace could result in collapse of the main landing gear.
