AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/DHC-6/42.

DHC-6 (Twin Otter) Series Aeroplanes

AD/DHC-6/42 Inboard Trailing Flap - Inspection and Modification 12/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 20 November 2008.

Background:

This AD was raised in 1976 against De Havilland Canada Service Bulletin (SB) No. 6/345, requiring an inspection, and possible modification, of the inboard trailing edge flap in the area of the centre hinge joint following reports of cracking.  Compliance was required every 400 hours TIS, even after incorporation of modification No. 6/1556.

Given that the required inspection is incorporated in the Inspection Requirements Manual for the aircraft (PSM 1-6-7) and adequately referenced in Schedule 5 of the CAR's 1988, this AD is no longer required.
