AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/DHC-2/1.

DHC-2 (Beaver) Series Aeroplanes

AD/DHC-2/1 Fuel Tanks Inspection and No Smoking Placards 11/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 23 October 2008.

Background:

This unique AD was originally raised in 1961 requiring an inspection of the lower surface of the fuselage in the fuel tank area for stains, dampness or other indications of fuel leakage.  Applicability was for aircraft that had not been modified to the satisfaction of the Secretary.  Also, to install a "NO SMOKING" placard in the cabin.

Compliance was:  For fuel leakage - before each flight.  For the placard - forthwith.

As all affected aircraft would have been inspected and modified by now, and the extended period the requirement has been promulgated, this AD is considered to be no longer required.
