De Havilland DHC-1 (Chipmunk) Series Aeroplanes

AD/DHC-1/1 Tailplane Bracket Bolt - Locking 10/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 25 September 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1950 against documents DH TNS CTR No.135; or Air Ministry Modification Chipmunk No. H.47 or ANO 104.1.14.15.5.1, required a modification by reversal of bolts securing the tailplane attachment brackets to the aft face of the rear fuselage bulkhead, and replacing the Aerotight nuts with new standard nuts.  Compliance was required forthwith.

As all affected aircraft would have been modified by now, this AD is no longer required.
