On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/DHA-3/13.

DHA-3 (Drover) Series Aeroplanes

AD/DHA-3/13 Horizontal Tailplane Attachments - Inspection 12/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 20 November 2008.

Background:

This AD was probably raised in 1956 applicable to models not modified in accordance with DH Modification DRO 92, issue 2, requiring an inspection for cracking of the horizontal stabiliser rear spar in the vicinity of the spar to fuselage attachment brackets.  Compliance was required at intervals of 100 hours TIS.

Given the extended period that this AD has been published, with no defects reported in the mandatory reporting system, that all affected aircraft are likely to have been modified by now, and that normal maintenance practices and schedules would adequately address the inspection in any case, this AD is no longer required.
