AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

DH 82 (Tiger Moth) Series Aeroplanes

AD/DH 82/16 TNS Applicability to Thruxton Jackaroo Aircraft 8/2009

Applicability:

Thruxton Jackaroo (Modified DH82A) aircraft.

Requirement:

Action in accordance with de Havilland Support Limited Technical News Sheet (TNS) CT (MOTH) No. 4, Issue 2, dated 1 March 2009 (which includes an Appendix A list of TNS numbers which are common to the DH82A Tiger Moth and the Thruxton Jackaroo).

Compliance:

Within 3 months after 30 July 2009.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 30 July 2009.

Background:

The UK CAA requires compliance of Thruxton Jackaroo aircraft with certain Technical New Sheets that are common to DH82A aircraft.
