DH 104 (Dove) Series Aeroplanes

AD/DH 104/9 Aileron, Rudder and Elevator Hinge Links and Brackets and Tailplane Upper Attachment Fittings - Inspection 12/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 20 November 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD was probably originally raised prior to 1965 against the recommendations contained in De Havilland Technical News Sheet (TNS) CT(104) No. 123 amdt 4.  This required an inspection for cracks of all flying control surface hinge brackets, including flaps, not modified to Dove modifications 841, 842 and 843.  Compliance was required at intervals of 200 hours.

Given the extended period that this AD has been published, with no defects reported in the mandatory reporting system, that all affected aircraft would more than likely have been modified by now, and that normal maintenance practices and schedules adequately address the inspections required at more frequent intervals, this AD is no longer required.
