AD/Dauphin/82 Main Rotor Rotating Star (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Eurocopter SA 360 and SA 365 (Dauphin) Series Helicopters

Applicability: | Models SA 365 N and N1 helicopters, Models AS 365 N2 and N3 helicopters, and Models SA 365 C, C1, C2, and C3 helicopters; fitted with rotating stars part number 365A31-1100-00, -01, -02, -03, -04, -05, -06, and -07. |
Requirement: | 1. On rotating stars having logged less than 500 flight hours since new or since last overhaul: Inspect for cracks in accordance with paragraph 2.B. of Eurocopter AS 365 N Alert Telex No. 05.00.50, or Eurocopter SA 365 C Alert Telex No. 05.27, as applicable. 2. On rotating stars having logged more than 500 flight hours since new or since last overhaul: Inspect for cracks in accordance with paragraph 2.B. of Eurocopter AS 365 N Alert Telex No. 05.00.50, or Eurocopter SA 365 C Alert Telex No. 05.27, as applicable. If cracking is found, before further flight, replace the affected rotating star. Note: DGAC AD F-2005-170 refers. |
Compliance: | 1. At the latest, inspect at 550 flight hours. Thereafter at intervals not to exceed 50 flight hours. 2. Within 50 flight hours after 21 October 2005. Thereafter at intervals not to exceed 50 flight hours. |
| This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 21 October 2005. |
