AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/CT7/3.

General Electric Turbine Engines - CT7 Series

AD/CT7/3 Compressor Modification, Power Lever Control Adjustment And Engine Inspection Procedure 8/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 30 July 2009.

Background:

This Australian AD was raised in1985 against Swedish Airworthiness Directive SAD No. 1-003 applicable to SAAB-Fairchild 340A aircraft type/model, SAAB-SCANIA AB Service Bulletin (SB) SF340-72-003, General Electric (GE) SB (CT7-TP) 72-35 Rev.1 and GE Operating Engineering Bulletin (OEB) No. 4 Rev.1.

The above required modification of compressor rotor assembly and actuating system linkage assembly, adjustment of power lever input to the Hydromechanical Unit (HMU) and introduction of special inspections following investigation of compressor failures experienced by CT7 engines fitted to SF340 aircraft.

Compliance was as detailed in requirement document.

This AD has been sufficiently promulgated for the affected engines to have been modified by now and for the latest OEB requirements to be included into the operators system of maintenance for the aircraft type/model.  This AD is therefore considered to be no longer required.
