AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Kelowna Flightcraft (General Dynamics/Convair) Series Aeroplanes

AD/CONVAIR/4 Supplemental Inspection Program 5/2006

Applicability:

All Model 340, 440, and all such model aircraft converted to turbopropeller power.

Requirement:

Inspect in accordance with General Dynamics, Convair Division, “Supplemental Inspection Document (SID), Model 340 / 440”, Report No. ZS-340-1000, Revision 1, dated 15 April 1991; including Addenda I, II, and III, all dated April 15, 1991.

If cracked structure is detected during any inspection required by this Directive, before further flight, repair in accordance with SID Model 340/440 Report No.
ZS-340-1000, Revision 1.

Note:  FAA AD 92-06-06 Amdt 39-8186 refers.

Compliance:

At the threshold and repeat inspection times specified in the Requirement document.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 11 May 2006.

Background:

The FAA requires certain inspections to ensure the structural integrity of the aircraft.
