AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/CON/73.

Teledyne Continental Motors Piston Engines

AD/CON/73 Unapproved Camshaft Repairs 6/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 4 June 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1995 required camshafts repaired by Wades Camshafts Pty Ltd, prior to 31 October 1994, to be inspected for lobe profile, lobe dimension and grinding induced thermal cracks.

Compliance was:  Effective 2 March 1995.

For installed camshafts:  At next engine overhaul or bulk strip, which ever occurs first.  Spare camshafts:  Prior to installation in an engine.

This AD has been sufficiently promulgated for the affected camshafts to have been located and inspected by now; therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required.
