AD/CL-600/85 Fuselage Frame FS409+128 Bulkhead Web (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | Model CL-600-2B19 aircraft, serial numbers 7003 through 7185. |
Requirement: | Action in accordance with the requirements of Transport Canada AD CF-97-11R2. Note: Accomplishment of Canadair Service Bulletins SB 601R-53-047 original issue or SB 601R-53-046, or later Transport Canada approved revisions, constitutes terminating action for the inspection requirements of this Directive. |

Background: | A report was received of a fatigue crack approximately 14-inches in length that had propagated in the pressure bulkhead frame at the forward end of the fuselage wing box cutout. Inspection of additional aircraft revealed cracking in the same location. |
