Bombardier (Canadair) CL-600 (Challenger) Series Aeroplanes

AD/CL-600/63 Life Limited Landing Gear Parts 4/2005

Applicability:

Model CL-600-2B16 (CL-604) aircraft, serial numbers 5301 through 5513.

Requirement:

Action in accordance with the requirements of Transport Canada AD CF-2003-20.

Note:  Bombardier Service Bulletin SB 604-32-014, dated 31 May 2002, or a later Transport Canada approved revision.

Compliance:

As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of 14 April 2005.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 14 April 2005.

Background:

Certain landing gear parts that are listed in the aircraft model Airworthiness Limitations Section, as safe life items with structural life limits, could be rotable and may not have been serialised, making tracking difficult.  This Directive mandates that such parts be serialised.  This Directive also provides the procedure to determine the number of landings for those parts where the service history cannot be established.
