AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/CL-600/13 Amdt 1.

Bombardier (Canadair) CL-600 (Challenger) Series Aeroplanes

AD/CL-600/13 Amdt 1 Brake Control Push-Pull Cable 11/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 22 October 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD originally raised in 1983 and again in 1988 against Canadair Challenger Service Bulletin (SB) No. 600-0254 Rev.1 required a recommendation by the manufacturer to periodically inspect and introduce a terminating modification, to ensure the integrity of the brake control system due to a damaged brake control cable which could result in partial loss of braking capacity.

Compliance was:  Inspection to be accomplished prior to the issue of a Certificate of Airworthiness, and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 150 landings until modified in accordance with the requirement document.

This AD has been sufficiently promulgated over an extended time for the affected aircraft to have been modified by now; therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required.
