AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Cessna 560 (Citation V) Series Aeroplanes

AD/CESSNA 560/11 Aileron Fairlead Interference 1/2010

Applicability:

All model 560XL aircraft.

Requirement:

Carry out Pre-modification Inspection, Modification and Post-Modification inspection in accordance with the requirements of FAA AD 2000-15-51 Amendment 39-11850 dated 31 July 2000.

Compliance:

As detailed in the requirement document.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 11 January 2010.

Background:

The FAA raised the Requirement document following two occurrences of improper aileron function discovered during pre-flight checks.  This AD is intended to prevent interference between the aileron cable fairlead tube and the aileron cable sector, which could result in loss of control of the aircraft.
