On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/CESSNA 310/9.

Cessna 310 Series Aeroplanes

AD/CESSNA 310/9 Main Gear Door Mechanism - Inspection 5/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 8 May 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian airworthiness directive (AD), issued in 1959, was based on Cessna Service Letter (SL) No. 310-37 rather than a State of Design AD.  Cessna
SL 310-37 required an inspection every 100 hours to check for loosening of the idler bellcrank and elongation of the bolt hole in the web in accordance with Cessna Service Letter 310-37 prior to installation of Service Kit 310-28.  This AD is only applicable to aircraft prior to serial number 35791.  Later aircraft manufactured from early 1959 were installed with the improved modification.  As all aircraft should have been modified by now, the unsafe condition no longer exists and this airworthiness directive is considered obsolete.
