AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/CESSNA 188/9 Amdt 3.

Cessna 188 (Agwagon) Series Aeroplanes

AD/CESSNA 188/9 Amdt 3 Baggage Compartment 8/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 31 July 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD, initially issued in 1968, required the installation of protective covers in the forward baggage compartment in accordance with Cessna Service Letter SE 68-15 to prevent possible damage to the fuel and electrical systems due to improperly stowed articles.  The AD compliance was within 100 hours times in service after 31 August 1970.  Although the owner’s manual recommends that any baggage must be securely lashed down, Cessna incorporated the installation on production aircraft from S/N 188-0318.  Therefore only aircraft before S/N 188-0318 were affected.

As all affected aircraft would have been modified by now, this AD is no longer required.
