AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/CESSNA 188/24.

Cessna 188 (Agwagon) Series Aeroplanes

AD/CESSNA 188/24 Stub Wing Front and Rear Spars 8/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 31 July 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD, issued in 1974, required a one-off detailed inspection, in accordance with Rex Aviation Technical Memo TM-45 issue 3, for scratches, cuts or nicks on the front and rear spar fork portion of the stub wing to mainplane attachment fitting.  These defects may have occurred due to the method used to trim the fibreglass walk way edge during manufacture.  The AD compliance was within 100 hours time in service after 31 October 1974.  As all affected aircraft would have been inspected by now, this AD is no longer required.
