AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/CESSNA 188/13.

Cessna 188 (Agwagon) Series Aeroplanes

AD/CESSNA 188/13 Front Main Spar 9/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 28 August 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD issued in 1969, required inspection of the front spar and doublers at the attachment points.  In 1974, CASA issued AD/CESSNA 188/22 which required inspection of the front and rear spars and covered the requirements of this AD for aircraft manufactured prior to 1972.  Later production aircraft incorporated design improvements to increase the wing spar fatigue life.

As this AD is covered by AD/CESSNA 188/22 for aircraft manufactured prior to 1972 and design improvements for aircraft manufactured after 1972, the AD is no longer required.
