AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/CESSNA 180/49.
Cessna 180, 182 and Wren 460 Series Aeroplanes
| AD/CESSNA 180/49 | Self Locking Nuts | 6/2008 |
Requirement: | CANCELLED. |
| This AD is cancelled on 5 June 2008. | |
Background: | This unique Australian airworthiness directive (AD), issued in 1978, required inspection of certain nuts located in the engine compartment, steering assembly and parking brake, in accordance with Cessna Service Letter SE 77-44, to determine the correct steel self locking nuts were installed. The compliance of this AD was within 100 hours time in service after 30 April 1978. As all aircraft would have been inspected by now, the unsafe condition no longer exists. |
