AD/BN-2/46 Engine Control Shaft - Inspection 13/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 18 December 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD, raised in 1980 required an inspection and modification of the engine control pivot shaft in the engine console due possible absence of a drilled hole for location of retaining split pin.  This action was found necessary following a report of an engine control pivot shaft becoming partially withdrawn from the engine console during taxi causing collapse of control levers and friction discs.

Compliance was within 50 hours TIS after 4 June 1980.

As all affected aircraft would have been inspected and modified by now, this AD is considered to be no longer required.
