AD/Bell 222/11 Swashplate Pins Cancelled (Cth)

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/BELL 222/11.

Background: | This unique Australian AD raised in 1987 against Bell Alert Service Bulletin (SB) No. 222-87-40 and 222U-87-15 required a one-time inspection swashplate pins connecting the swashplate drive link to the swashplate rotary ring following overseas instances of pin damage caused by slotted washer misalignment during assembly. Compliance was: At the next 25 hourly inspection after 23 February 1987 or before This AD has been sufficiently promulgated for the affected helicopter to have been inspected by now; therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required. |
