AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/BELL 222/11.

Bell Helicopter Textron Canada (BHTC) 222 Series Helicopters

AD/BELL 222/11 Swashplate Pins 8/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 30 July 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1987 against Bell Alert Service Bulletin (SB) No. 222-87-40 and 222U-87-15 required a one-time inspection swashplate pins connecting the swashplate drive link to the swashplate rotary ring following overseas instances of pin damage caused by slotted washer misalignment during assembly.

Compliance was:  At the next 25 hourly inspection after 23 February 1987 or before
1 April 1987 whichever occurs first.

This AD has been sufficiently promulgated for the affected helicopter to have been inspected by now; therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required.
