AD/Bell 206/47 Amdt 1 Hydraulic Servo Actuator Piston P/N 41000005 Inspection and Replacement Cancelled (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/BELL 206/47 Amdt 1.

Requirement:	CANCELLED.
This AD is cancelled on 20 November 2008.
Background:	This unique Australian AD, issued in 1973, required inspection and replacement of hydraulic servo actuator piston assembly in accordance with Bell Alert Service Bulletin 206-06-73-1 as a result of cracks been reported in the piston assembly.  The AD compliance was at the next daily inspection after 9 May 1973 and at intervals not exceeding 100 hours time in service until servo actuators are replaced or reworked.  The compliance also required a daily inspection for leaks until affected servo actuators are replaced.  As the manufacturer has discontinued the affected part number and no defects have been reported since 1980, the AD is no longer required.
