AD/BELL 206/39 Nut P/N 1022A14 Main Rotor Hub Latch Bolt and Blade Retention Bolt - Inspection 11/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 23 October 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD, issued in 1973, required a daily visual inspection of the nuts used on the main rotor blade latch bolts and blade retention bolts until a magnetic particle inspection was performed in accordance with Bell Alert Service Bulletin
206-24 to detect the possibility of cracks.  The AD compliance required the magnetic particle inspection within 25 hours time in service after 15 December 1972.  In 1973, the manufacturer replaced these nuts with a new type of nut.  As all aircraft would have been inspected and new nuts installed, the AD is no longer required.
