Ad/Bell 206/167 Amdt 3 - Transmission Pylon Support Spindle (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/BELL 206/167 Amdt 2 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Background: | A Transportation Safety Board of Canada investigation into an accident has revealed that the Spindle repaired by Cadorath Aerospace Inc., failed during flight and resulted in loss of control of the helicopter. This Directive requires removal of all Spindles repaired by Cadorath Aerospace Inc. Amendment 1 required the same technical actions as the original issue of this Directive to be applied to Agusta Model 206 A and B series helicopters. Amendment 2 corrected the text of the compliance statement for Model AB 206 helicopters, with no change to the compliance time. Amendment 3 is issued in response to a revision of the related Transport Canada AD and a new EASA AD, which include Spindles repaired by HS Tools & Parts Inc. to the applicability. |
