AD/BEECH 95/23 Control Surface Trim Tab Systems Cancelled (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/BEECH 95/23.
Beechcraft 95 (Travelair) Series Aeroplanes
| AD/BEECH 95/23 | Control Surface Trim Tab Systems | 8/2008 |
Requirement: | CANCELLED. |
| This AD is cancelled on 31 July 2008. | |
Background: | This unique Australian AD, originally issued in 1980 against Beechcraft Service Instruction (SI) No. 0846-152, Rev. 2, provided inspection procedures and trim tab free play limitations which would indicate when excessive wear had occurred in trim tab linkage and or actuators. Compliance was within 100 hours TIS after 30 June 1980 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 100 hours TIS. The SI notes that the procedures would be incorporated in the Shop Maintenance Manuals and that they should be retained for future routine 100 hour inspections for out of production aircraft. As the manufacturer's maintenance manuals have now been amended, Schedule 5 requirements are adequate, and only one defect has been recorded on the mandatory recording system, the unsafe condition is contained and the AD is therefore no longer required. |
