AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/BEECH 90/24.
Beechcraft 90 and 65-90 (King Air) Series Aeroplanes
| AD/BEECH 90/24 | Fuel Vent Heater Wiring - Inspection | 7/2008 |
Requirement: | CANCELLED. |
| This AD is cancelled on 3 July 2008. | |
Background: | This unique Australian AD was raised in 1971 following an explosion and intense fire that destroyed the starboard wing of a Beechcraft Baron A56TC outboard of the engine nacelle. The cause was chaffing of the fuel vent heater wiring. Compliance required disconnection of the power supply to both fuel vent heaters within 10 hours TIS after 30 September 1971 followed by inspecting for signs of chaffing and either securing the wiring or covering the wiring with plastic sleeving to prevent chaffing. As all affected aircraft would have been inspected by now, it is considered that the AD is no longer required. |
