AD/Beech 90/103 Flight Control System (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Beechcraft 90 and 65-90 (King Air) Series Aeroplanes

Applicability: | Model C90A aircraft, serial numbers LJ-1697 through LJ-1726, LJ-1728, LJ-1729, LJ-1731 through LJ-1739, and LJ-1741 through LJ-1743. |
Requirement: | Inspect the entire flight control system for improper assembly and damage, in accordance with Raytheon Aircraft Company Mandatory Service Bulletin (SB) If any improperly assembled or damaged flight controls are discovered as a result of the above inspection, before further flight, take corrective action as specified in SB No. SB 27-3761 original issue, or SB No. SB 27-3761 Revision 1. Note: FAA AD 2007-12-06 Amdt 39-15084 refers. |
Compliance: | Unless already accomplished, within 100 hours time in service after 30 August 2007 or at the next annual inspection that occurs at least 30 days after 30 August 2007, whichever occurs first. |

Background: | The FAA received a report of inspections of several affected aircraft with improperly assembled or damaged flight controls. Unless detected and corrected, improperly assembled or damaged flight controls could result in a reduction in flight control capability and lead to loss of control of the aircraft. |
