AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/BEECH 65/55 Amdt 1.

Beechcraft 65 and 70 (Queen Air) Series Aeroplanes

AD/BEECH 65/55 Amdt 1 Nose Baggage Compartment Door 7/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 3 July 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD, originally issued in 1981, required the provision of an additional latching feature for the hinged nose baggage door following fatal accidents overseas caused by the door opening on take-off.  The AD called out Beechcraft Service Instruction (SI) No.1181 Rev 1.

Compliance with the AD was within 300 hours time in service after 31 August 1981.  As all affected aircraft would have been modified long ago, this AD is no longer required.
