AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/BEECH 65/53 Amdt 1.

Beechcraft 65 and 70 (Queen Air) Series Aeroplanes

AD/BEECH 65/53 Amdt 1 Rudder and Elevator Trim Tab Systems 7/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 3 July 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD was issued in 1980 against Beechcraft Service Instruction (SI) No. 0691-133, - 135 Rev. 2.  The SI provided inspection procedures and trim tab free play limitations which would indicate when excessive wear had occurred in trim tab linkage and or actuators.  Compliance was within 100 hours TIS after
30 June 1980 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 100 hours TIS.

The SI notes that the procedures would be incorporated in Shop Maintenance Manuals.  The manufactures maintenance manuals have now been amended, and Schedule 5 requirements are adequate.  Hence, the unsafe condition is now covered by routine maintenance requirements, and the AD is no longer required.
