AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/BEECH 65/36 Amdt 1.

Beechcraft 65 and 70 (Queen Air) Series Aeroplanes

AD/BEECH 65/36 Amdt 1 Exhaust Augmenter Clamps 7/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 3 July 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD, originally issued in 1973, required a one-off inspection of the exhaust clamps on the main augmenter tubes for security and adequate clearance between the two halves of the clamps when fully tightened.  This requirement was raised following an accident investigation that suspected an engine compartment fire had penetrated the wheel well via the displacement of the augmenter tube.  Subsequent amendment combined the requirements for both the 65 and 70 models in 1989.

The compliance of the AD was within 100 hours time in service after 30 March 1973.

As all affected aircraft would have been inspected by now, this AD is no longer required.
