AD/BEECH 60/3 Retract Cable Actuator Arm Shear Rivet 6/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 5 June 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD was raised in 1969 against Beechcraft Service Instruction (SI) No. 0186-112, rather than a State of Design AD, that required the shear rivet installed in the undercarriage retractable assist step cable actuator arm to be replaced with a rivet of a lesser shear strength.  This action was to ensure that should the step mechanism become fouled the rivet will shear under excessive step retraction loads, thus ensuring that the landing gear operation will not be affected.

Compliance was before issue of a Certificate of Airworthiness.

Given the extended period this AD has been promulgated, and that a State of Design AD has not been published, it is considered that continued publication of this AD to be no longer necessary.
