AD/BEECH 55/59 Amdt 1 Control Surface Trim Tab Systems 12/2005

Applicability:

All models 58TC and 58TCA with S/Nos. TK-1 to TK-63.

Requirement:

Action in accordance with Beechcraft SI No. 0846-152, Rev. 2.

Compliance:

Within 100 hours time in service after 30 June 1980 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 110 hours time in service.

The initial compliance time of the previous issue of this Directive remains unchanged by this issue.

This Amendment becomes effective on 24 November 2005.

Background:

The initial issue of this airworthiness directive was to mandate the inspection procedure that defines maximum allowable control surface trim tab free play caused by accumulative wear in tab control linkages and actuators.

This amendment has been issued to increase the time between repetitive inspections to be increased from 100 to 110 hours time in service.  This will allow operators of aircraft maintained to an approved system of maintenance to align the repetitive inspections with other routine maintenance.
