AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/BEECH 55/53.

Beechcraft 55, 58 and 95-55 (Baron) Series Aeroplanes

AD/BEECH 55/53 Engine Firewall Elbow Fitting 6/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 5 June 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD issued in 1978 against Beechcraft Service Instruction (SI) No. 0966, rather than a State of Design AD, required an inspection of an air conditioning elbow fitting installed in the LH engine firewall, and to replace it with a steel fitting if found to be made of aluminium.  This requirement ensured compliance with the requirements of FAR Part 23.1191.

Compliance was within 100 hours TIS after 30 April 1978.

As all affected aircraft would have complied with this AD by now, it is considered that an unsafe condition no longer exists.
