AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

Beechcraft 55, 58 and 95-55 (Baron) Series Aeroplanes

AD/BEECH 55/44 Fuel Crossfeed Line 6/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 5 June 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD, issued in 1976, required a one-off inspection of fuel lines in the left hand wheel well for signs of chaffing by the main wheel tyre after a local report found a crossfeed fuel line chaffed to the point of leakage.  A note in the AD suggested that fuel lines in the left and/or right main wheel wells, as appropriate, should be examined for chaffing whenever a main wheel tyre is replaced, and a check made for adequate clearance at each periodic inspection.

Compliance was within 100 hours TIS after 30 September 1976.

As all affected aircraft would have been inspected, and if necessary modified long ago, this AD is no longer required.
