AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/BEECH 55/3.

Beechcraft 55, 58 and 95-55 (Baron) Series Aeroplanes

AD/BEECH 55/3 Rudder Torque Tube 7/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 3 July 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD, issued in 1962, required an inspection to determine if a crack existed in the rudder torque tube in accordance with Beechcraft Service Bulletin (SB) No.11 or No.5.  Should a crack exist, replacement of the rudder was necessary.

Compliance was at intervals not exceeding 200 hours TIS after 1 September 1971.  The manufacturer did not require repetitive inspections.

This AD has been extant for an extended period, and no defects of this nature have been reported under the SDR system.  In addition, normal maintenance practices, including Schedule 5 and the manufacturer’s instructions for continued airworthiness should adequately address the requirements of this AD.  Hence, this AD is no longer required.
