AD/Beech 55/28 Landing Gear Upper and Lower Torque Link Clevis Pins Cancelled (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/BEECH 55/28.
Beechcraft 55, 58 and 95-55 (Baron) Series Aeroplanes
| AD/BEECH 55/28 | Landing Gear Upper and Lower Torque Link Clevis Pins | 6/2008 |
Requirement: | CANCELLED. |
| This AD is cancelled on 5 June 2008. | |
Background: | This unique Australian AD, issued in 1972, required the removal and inspection of the AN or MS lock pins in the upper and lower torque link clevis pin on the main and nose landing gear and replacement of the pins should they exhibit wear or corrosion. The requirement was raised after three instances of faulty lock pins being discovered. Compliance was within 100 hours time in service after 29 March 1972 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding three years. The SDR mandatory reporting system contains one record of Beech 55 clevis pin wear. As this requirement has been in place for an extended period, the SDR system records only once occurrence of clevis pin wear, and normal maintenance practices adequately address the requirements, this AD is no longer required. |
