AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/BEECH 50/31.

Beechcraft 50 (Twin Bonanza) Series Aeroplanes

AD/BEECH 50/31 Rudder and Elevator Trim Tab Systems 6/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 5 June 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD, issued in 1980 against Beechcraft Service Instruction (SI) No. 0691-133, -135.  The SI provided inspection procedures and trim tab free play limitations which would indicate when excessive wear had occurred in trim tab linkage and actuators.  Compliance was within 100 hours TIS after 30 June 1980 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 100 hours TIS.

The SI notes that the procedures would be incorporated in Shop Maintenance Manuals, and this has now occurred.  Hence, as existing maintenance requirements are adequate, and only one defect has been recorded on the mandatory recording system, the unsafe condition is contained and this AD is therefore no longer required.
