AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/BEECH 36/9 Amdt 1.

Beechcraft 36 (Bonanza) Series Aeroplanes

AD/BEECH 36/9 Amdt 1 Propeller Governor Control Linkage 5/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 8 May 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian airworthiness directive (AD) was originally raised in 1970 against manufacturer's Service Instruction (SI) 0401-254, rather than a State of Design AD.  The SI recommended inspection of the propeller governor speed adjusting lever for tightness on the governor shaft as a one-off 25 hour TIS inspection.

Amendment No.1 of this AD was raised in 1972 to included a repetitive 100 hour inspection based upon additional defects being reported to the then Department of Civil Aviation.

Given the period of time that this AD has been exposed to industry, that the manufacturer only recommended a one-off inspection, that no State of Design AD has been raised, and that this AD is effectively covered by normal maintenance practice, it is considered that an unsafe condition no longer exists.
