AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/BEECH 35/54.

Beechcraft 35 (Bonanza) Series Aeroplanes

AD/BEECH 35/54 Hatshelf Soundproofing Blanket 6/2008

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 5 June 2008.

Background:

This unique Australian AD, originally issued in 1975 and amended in 1979, required an inspection to ensure that the cabin soundproofing blanket was properly bonded to the bottom of the hat shelf in accordance with Beechcraft Service Instruction (SI) 0694-311.  The manufacturer considered the inspection and/or repair was necessary to prevent the possibility of the blanket coming into contact with primary control cables. Inspection and/or repair was to be carried out at intervals of 100 hours TIS.

Although this AD is repetitive, it has been in force for many years with no defects reported.  Also, the requirement is covered by normal maintenance practices which require regular inspection of control cable runs.  Hence, this AD is no longer required.
