AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the commencement date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below repeals Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/BEECH 300/8 Amdt 2 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001 (1) of CASR 1998 and subsection 33 (3) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct an unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Beechcraft 300 Series Aeroplanes

AD/BEECH 300/8 Amdt 3 Wing Attach Fittings, Bolts and Nuts 25/2016

Applicability:

All Beech 300 and B300 series aircraft.

Requirement:

1.    Inspect all of the outboard (upper forward, upper and lower aft) wing tension attach bolts and nuts in accordance with the latest revision of Beechcraft Structural Inspection and Repair Manual 98-39006, Section 57-18-01, Chart 201 (Model 300) or Section 57-18-02, Chart 201 (B300/B300C), as in force at the date of this AD.

2.    Replace all of the outboard (upper forward, upper and lower aft) wing bolts and nuts.

3.    Replace all of the outboard lower forward wing bolts and nuts (at the lower forward attach fitting).

Compliance:

1.    Inspect at intervals not to exceed 5 years component time in service.

2.    Replace at intervals not to exceed 20 years or 20,000 hours component time in service, whichever occurs first.

3.    Replace at intervals not to exceed 5 years component time in service or at any time they are removed, whichever occurs first.

This AD commences on 14 December 2016.

Background:

This AD mandates the life and inspection period of outer wing attach bolts and nuts.

Amendment 1 changed the Compliance part 2, so that it was the same as the replacement life specified in the Airworthiness Limitations section of the Maintenance Manual which is 15 years/15,000 hours, whichever occurs first.

Amendment 2 changed the Compliance part 2, so that it is the same as the replacement life specified in the Airworthiness Limitations section of the Maintenance Manual which is 20 years/20,000 hours, whichever occurs first.

This amendment clarifies the version of the Beechcraft Structural Inspection and Repair Manual to be complied with.
