AD/Beech 23/48 Ailerons (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | Models A23-19, 19A, M19A, and B19 aircraft, serial numbers MB-1 through Models 23, A23, A23A, B23, and C23 aircraft, serial numbers M-2 through M-1415. Models A-23-24 and A24 aircraft, MA-1 through MA-368. Model A24R aircraft, serial numbers MC-2 through MC-127. |
Requirement: | Install a Beech part number 169-110000-481 strap in both the left and right wing trailing edge in accordance with Beechcraft Service Instruction No. 0510-032, or later approved revision. Note: FAA AD 76-25-05 Amdt 39-2789 refers. |
Compliance: | Unless already accomplished, within 60 days after the effective date of this Directive. |

Background: | The actions required by this Directive are intended to prevent interchanging the left and right ailerons during reinstallation, which would result in reversed aileron control response. This Directive is issued to ensure compliance of future imported aircraft. |
