AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/BAe 146/35 Amdt 1 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

British Aerospace BAe 146 Series Aeroplanes

AD/BAe 146/35 Amdt 2 MLG Door Hinge Bracket 7/2005

Applicability:

All Model BAe 146 aircraft.

All Model Avro 146-RJ aircraft.

Requirement:

Action in accordance with British Aerospace Mandatory Service Bulletin 32-A119 Revision 2 or later UK CAA approved revision.

Note:  UK CAA AD 013-11-90 refers.

Compliance:

As specified in the Requirement document.

This Amendment becomes effective on 7 July 2005.

Background:

Reports were received of cracked or corroded main landing gear door rear hinge bracket assemblies.

Amendment 1 was issued in response to a UK CAA review of initial inspection findings with a subsequent extension of threshold to 9,000 landings.  A repeat inspection requirement was also introduced.

Amendment 2 is issued to update the Requirement document to Revision 2, which introduces the Avro 146-RJ aircraft to applicability.
