1/2008

Applicability:

All Model BAe 146 aircraft, all serial numbers.

All Model AVRO 146-RJ aircraft, all serial numbers.

Requirement:

Action in accordance with EASA AD 2007-0270 R1.

Note 1:  BAE Systems Service Bulletin ISB 57-033 Revision 9, or later EASA approved revision, refers.

Note 2:  Revision 9 of the service bulletin applies to pre and post Modification HCM01447A attachment fitting installations.

Compliance:

As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of
17 January 2008.

This Amendment becomes effective on 17 January 2008.

Background:

This AD provides inspections to detect and correct the condition that leads to fuel leaks from bolt positions on the rear spar attachment of wing rib 2.

Amendment 7 introduced the latest revision of the related service bulletin, which specified additional calendar time based inspection criteria to control the stress corrosion failures of the pre and post modification HCM01447A attachment fitting installations.

Amendment 8 is issued in response to a revision of the related EASA AD, which clarifies that the calendar compliance times are to be counted from the AD effective date, not from the service bulletin issue date.

The original issue of this directive became effective on 31 August 1990.
