AD/BAe 146/16 Amdt 6 Rear Spar Root Joint Attach Fittings Wing Rib 2 (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/BAe 146/16 Amdt 5 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | All BAe 146 Series 100, 200 and 300 aircraft. All Avro 146-RJ Series 70, 85 and 100 aircraft. Those aircraft pre modification HCM01447A. |
Requirement: | Action in accordance with BAE Systems Mandatory Service Bulletin 57-033 Revision 8 or later UK CAA approved revision. Note: Replacement of all tension bolts with Repair Information Leaflet HC536H9156 cancels the requirements for repeat inspections, and satisfies the content of Modification HCM01447A. |

Background: | This AD provides inspections and a terminating action (replacement of bolts) to detect and correct the condition that leads to fuel leaks from bolt positions on the rear spar attachment of wing rib 2. This Amendment updates the revision status of the requirement document. The original issue of this directive became effective on 31 August 1990. |
