AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/BAe 146/133 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

AD/BAe 146/133 Amdt 1 Airworthiness Limitations 4/2009

Applicability:

All Model BAe 146 and AVRO 146-RJ aircraft, all serial numbers.

Requirement:

Action in accordance with the requirements of EASA AD 2009-0020.

Note:  BAE Systems (Operations) Limited BAe 146/AVRO 146-RJ AMM Chapters
05-10, 05-15 and 05-20 at Revision 94, dated 15 November 2008, or later EASA approved revisions, refer.

Compliance:

As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of
9 April 2009.

This Amendment becomes effective on 9 April 2009.

Background:

The BAe 146/AVRO 146-RJ Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) includes Chapters 05-10 “Time Limits” and 05-20 “Scheduled Maintenance Checks” which have been identified as requirements for continued airworthiness.  BAE Systems (Operations) Limited has amended the AMM to include revisions to Chapters
05-10-01 and 05-10-15.  This Directive retained the requirements of EASA AD
2007-0271, and required implementation of the instructions, limitations, inspections and corrective measures as specified in Chapters 05-10, 05-15 and 05-20 of the AMM at Revision 93.

Amendment 1 is issued in response to a new EASA AD.  The AD amends the requirements of EASA AD 2008-0132 and requires implementation of the instructions, limitations, inspections and corrective measures as specified in the defined parts of Chapter 05 of the AMM at Revision 94.
